Insult to Injury

(1907 - 1944), in my view he represents what is commonly described as a hero.
Stauffenberg was a German army officer and one of the leading figures in the July 20 Plot of 1944 to assassinate Adolf Hitler and seize power in Germany. On the 20th of July World History tilted on a knife edge, alas the plot failed and the main conspirators Friedrich Olbricht, Stauffenberg, Werner von Haeften and Albrecht Ritter Mertz von Quirnheim, were arrested the same day in the Bendlerblock and executed by firing squad.
Today this section of the Bendlerblock houses the Memorial to the German Resistance and the street on which it lies is named Stauffenbergstraße.

When the people of Front National indulge in historical revisionism they not only piss on the legacy of the German resistance movement, nor the millions of people who would have survived had the plot succeeded but all of the estimated 72 million people who lost their life in connection with World War II.

Recently Front National second man Bruno Gollnisch:

"There is not a serious historian alive today who adheres completely to the conclusions of the Nuremberg trials," Mr Gollnisch, a Euro MP and Mr Le Pen’s designated successor, said at a press conference in Lyons on Monday.

"I do not call into question the existence of the concentration camps, but as to the number of dead, historians can still have something to argue about. As to the existence of the gas chambers, that is up to the historians to determine," he added. - Scotsman

If Gollnisch was clinical insane maybe this statement could have been excused, but he is not. Gollnisch has not only acquired a higher education, he is also a professor, which implies that he can read. (Statements which have lead to convictions can be found here)

Following the July 20 Plot Gestapo, driven by a furious Hitler, rounded up nearly everyone who had had the remotest connection with the July 20 plot, under Himmler’s new Sippenhaft laws this included all the relatives of the principal plotters. Some 5,000 people were arrested and about 200 were executed.

On 15 August Hans-Bernd von Haeften, the brother of the adjutant to Stauffenberg Werner von Haeften, was brought before the People's Court(Volksgerichtshof).
During the proceedings the satanic judge-president Roland Freisler inquired of von Haeften "Why have you so offencively broken your allegiance to the Führer?", von Haeften answered "because I consider the Führer to be the incarnation of evil".

Haeften was sentenced to death and hanged the same day at Plötzensee Prison in Berlin.
