The End of ITS

Following public outcry over the murder of an Italian woman, blamed on a Roma migrant from Romania, Italian MEP and ITS delegate Alessandra Mussolini made the following remark, 2. November 2007:

"breaking the law has become a way of life for Romanians" [1]

The grand-daughter of fascist dictator Benito Mussolini went on to state that Italians saw little difference between Romanian immigrants and Roma (Gypsies).

These statements have caused the angered Greater Romania Party to withdraw its 5 MEPs from the Identity, Tradition, Sovereignty(ITS) bloc constituted within the European Parliament. The Greater Romania Party is first and foremost known for its ultra nationalism and fierce loathing of gypsies.

The ITS group, which now only counts 18 members, thus no longer fulfills the requirement of a minimum of 20 members from 6 distinct countries. The End.

The move was welcomed by Green/EFA MEP Alyn Smith, who said: "Watching these people argue amongst themselves warms the heart."
